First off; thank you for being here.
We will be taking a brief detour today before we hit our globe-trotting road trip of a news article. I wont be adding any images, besides the top one, because this is more serious, and I want to get to the point.
I wanted to talk with you about a few of my goals. Primarily, the ones regarding giving back.
I’ll make this as quick as possible, because it’s more about transparency and a promise than anything else.
Here’s how my financial goals on Substack are structured:
For short-term goals, starting right now (and I’ve already begun this), every time I gain 10 paid subscribers, I’ll pay it forward by subscribing to another writer on Substack. I’ll keep doing that all the way up to 100 paid subscribers.
Once I hit 100 subscribers, the pace changes. From there, I’ll subscribe to a new writer every time I gain another 100 subscribers, all the way up to 1,000 paid subscribers.
When I get to 1,000, I will grant the first 100 people who paid to subscribe to me lifetime free access. Yes, I will keep track. And yes, that is a promise and a guarantee. You can quote me on it. As long as you are still a subscriber when I reach 1,000, the 100 longest subscribed accounts will be granted free lifetime access.
After 1,000 subscribers, the milestone shifts again. At that point, I will subscribe to someone new every 500 paid subscribers gained.
But once I hit the big one, 10,000 paid subscribers, something entirely different will happen.
I will do Sub Bombs, where I drop dozens of subscriptions randomly a few times a year. Also, at 10,000 subscribers, because by then I will be making enough, I will donate a large percentage of my income to different causes. No, not as a tax break. I will donate more than what they allow me to write off on my taxes.
But I will not wait that long to start giving back. Far before 10,000 subscribers, the moment I am not worried about how I am going to buy food some weeks, I will start donating small amounts to causes, political groups, and extraordinary people. According to my math, around 300 paid subscribers would allow me to begin giving back in small ways.
Once I hit 5,000 paid subscribers, I promise to donate 20 percent of my yearly income after taxes to charities, science departments, and food banks. I will start in my own region, then expand outward.
When I reach 10,000 paid subscribers, along with those Sub Bombs, I will bump that donation up to 35 percent of my income. At that point, I will be making enough that it does not make sense to hoard wealth. Also, shortly before that point, around 6000 paid subscribers, I will start hiring artists, and expanding my business.
I wont go into more details on that, but know I have every step planned, because the people of the world are worth obsessing over giving back to!
I’ve been so poor at times that we couldn’t afford food, and even water was out of reach. As a child, I went through things that would make the hair on your neck stand up. All I want now is to help as many people as I can, especially children who are poor and suffering, have a better life.
If beyond that I ever manage to make 5 million dollars a year or more, I will increase it to donating half my income. And yes, that is still on top of paying taxes.
If I somehow hit 10 million a year, I will donate 60 percent.
If I pull off a miracle and make 100 million a year, I will donate 70 percent after taxes.
And if I ever somehow reach 1 billion a year in income, which would only happen because people like you believed in me and this mission, I will donate 90 percent of it after taxes.
If I somehow double that and reach Elon Musk level wealth, making 100 billion a year, I will donate 99 percent and continue doing so until the day I die. When that day comes, I will donate everything except a small piece of land to ensure my children are never homeless. Everything else goes to the world.
Yes, every single penny still under my control when I go will be donated to worthwhile foundations.
And here is the most important part. You, the people, will choose where the majority of that money goes. I will set up an app, site, or whatever technology we are using at the time, and you will get to vote on how it is distributed. I will always reserve a small portion to personally direct toward causes I feel deeply about, but the majority will be in your hands.
This will happen sometime around 1 million a year, as I will be able to afford to pay for app development and then as soon as its up and functional people who pay to subscribe will get to see what I have to donate, and choose where it goes.
Is a lot of this magical thinking? Absolutely. Is it beyond shooting for the stars? Definitely.
But am I 100 percent sincere? Yes.
Even at the highest earning levels in this plan, I would live modestly. I would have a cabin in the woods with my family and plenty of land, not for luxury, but to create a rescue sanctuary for animals that would otherwise be euthanized. I have no desire for yachts, private jets, or world power.
I just want to make the world a better place in any way I can. That is the honest truth. I am writing this not to make false promises or for some hidden agenda, but to put this commitment in writing, like a contract with the people of the world.
I love our species. If I can turn this brain of mine into something that benefits as many people as possible, I will die happy.
I have not always been a good man. But in the deepest part of my heart, I know this is my purpose on this planet. To write, to create bigger entertainment, and then to give it all back.
That is it.
Now, let us get on with the news. Thank you for reading, and thank you for every single contribution. Every like, comment, share, and even free subscription helps me get one step closer to these goals. And I will never give up on them.
This is where I invite you to upgrade to a paid subscription today and help me move further along the path of helping others.
Thank you!

The one disclaimer I’ll leave for this entire plan is this: if taxes ever increase substantially enough to finally hold the ultra-wealthy accountable and actually make them pay their fair share instead of getting endless breaks, then the percentages I’ve promised may shift slightly. If higher taxes and financial requirements are put in place, I’ll adjust so I’m not operating at a loss.
Other than that, as long as taxes remain similar to how they are now and the overall financial landscape doesn’t drastically change, I will continue donating the largest possible percentages of my income exactly as promised.
Best of luck to you! This world needs more acts of kindness. It can go a long way.
Best of luck in this endeavor to save humanity from its own greed and selfish hoarding desires! I 100% support you in this. Thanks for all the humor/satire/truth.
